Unit 1: Coursework KEY INFORMATION
Changing Awareness of Crime —Internally Assessed.
Level: Level 3 Applied Diploma
You will develop an understanding of different types
of crime, influences on perceptions of crime and (A Level)
why some crimes are unreported. Knowing about
the wide range of different crimes and the reasons Examining Board: WJEC
people have for not reporting such crimes provides an
understanding of the com-plexity of behaviours and

Criminological Theories- Externally Assessed.

You will gain an understanding of why people commit entry requirements
crime, drawing on what you have studied in Unit 1.
You will explore the difference between criminal Year 12
behaviour and deviance and the theories behind

You will have an understanding of the criminal justice Assessment method:
system from the moment a crime has been identified
to the verdict. You will develop the understanding and Coursework (50%)
skills needed to examine information in order to review Exam (50%)
the justice of verdicts in criminal cases.
Unit 4: Exam
Crime & Pubishment- Externally Assesed.
You will apply your understanding of the awarness
of criminality, criminological theories and the process
of bringing an accused to court in order to evaluate
the effectiveness of social control to deliver criminal
justice policy.
