Unit 1: Business Opportunities KEY INFORMATION
This unit covers the characteristics students need to develop
to be successful in business and how new or existing businesses
generate their product or service ideas and test them through Level: AS and A Level
market research. Students will also consider the competition in
the market, theeconomic climate, how the business might be Examining Board: WJEC
financed and how much revenue the idea might generate.
Unit 2: Managing the Business Subject Leader:
This unit covers key activities which students may be involved Mrs K. Parfitt-Ley
in if they were to set up and/or manage a business whether
small, medium-sized or large. It looks at the core functions of
Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Operations. Entry Requirements:

Unit 3: International Business
This unit looks at aims and objectives of business, Unit 1: Business Opportunities
decision making tools and market analysis. Unit 2: Business Functions
Unit 4: Making Business Decisions A2 Level Modules:
In this unit, students will be able to assess the current
competitiveness of a business. They will analyse corporate Unit 3: Business Strategy

business. It will also focus on international trade, globalisation
