A year 9 team entered the ‘Monmouthshire’s Young Enterprise Evening’ at County Hall on Tuesday 15th March. The group presented their vision for a future restaurant in 2040 based in the Forest of Dean, called the ‘Global Tree House ‘. They came up with lots of briilaint innovative ideas, the wow factor was a key theme throughout. You could download the restaurant APP to smell the foods and cuisines from various countries from around the world. On arrival, you choose your destination and get transported in seconds to Mexico for example and enjoy a virtual reality experience of music, carnival and are looked after by native people. In the Japanese restaurant, there are no human employees, a whole virtual reality experience with digital technology you cant imagine.
The team gained brilliant feedback and stole the evening, they were the youngest team out of all the schools, and were so successful that Paul Matthews , CEO, MCC has invited them to present at the Eisteddfod in July. The theme reflects the innovative Year 9 enterprise curriculum in which all of the year group study and follow, developing and equipping them with 21st century skills.
