ICT Acceptable Use Agreement

When a student joins us they and their parent/carer will be asked to read and sign against the following conditions:

  • I will only access the system using my own login and password, which I will keep secret.
  • I will not access other peoples' files or any material which is illegal or offensive.
  • I will only use the computer for schoolwork and homework during lesson times.
  • I will not undertake any commercial activity e.g. eBay
  • I will respect the equipment provided and report any damage, either accidental or deliberate.
  • I will not bring in media/data storage devices from outside school unless permission is given.
  • I will ask permission from a member of staff before using the internet. I will not access social networking sites or proxy websites.
  • I will only email people I know, or whom the teacher has approved.
  • All messages I send will be polite and responsible.
  • I will not give personal details, home address or telephone numbers, or arrange to meet anyone unless a parent, carer or teacher has given me permission.
  • I will report any unpleasant material or messages sent to me. These reports will be confidential and will help to protect others.
  • I acknowledge that the school maintains the right to check computer files and may monitor the internet sites visited.
  • I will not attempt to circumvent the security or the network in any way.
  • I will not download, store or save any of the following file types unless they form an authorised part of my coursework - Music (MP3s), Video (MPEG, AVI etc), Games or Images (JPEG, JPG, etc.)
  • I will not attempt to install any programs on the school network that are restricted.
  • I will not attempt to hack into the school network or try to find ways around the security measures in place.
  • I will not attempt to deliberately introduce a virus or software program that may damage the system and its security.
  • I will not use my phone or any other device to record sound, movies or images of another pupil or member of staff unless I have their express permission.
  • If I bring my phone to school it must remain out of sight and turned off during school hours.
